De-stressing and Winding Down

At the end of a long and stressful day all I want to do is wind down and have some ‘me time’. Whether it’s having a bath or indulging in chocolate flavoured anythings, de-stressing after a tiring day is essential. Here are a few things that I enjoy doing that help me relax, get cosy and prepare me for another big day ahead:

 

  1. HAVE A BATH

    Now I know I haven’t had this blog very long, but I’m positive I’ve mentioned how much I love baths in at least one of my blog posts so far. Baths are a great way to de-stress and feel zen. There’s nothing better than running a warm bath, popping a LUSH bath bomb in and watching some YouTube, a TV show or movie of preference. Grab some chocolates to have as a snack and you’re on your way to a very satisfying evening.

  2. READ A BOOK

    As you may or may not know, I am an avid reader and your new #1 advocate for reading. Reading a good ol’ book (a tangible one!) can be a great way to enter a different world and just chill-out. So if you’re in need of some down time, grab a good book, pick a cozy spot and enjoy the read.

  3. DO SOME EXERCISE

    Whether you want to go for a long run or just do a bit of yoga in the comfort of your home, a little bit of exercise will always go a long way. Personally, after a tiring day at uni or work, I like to come home and go a little bit of yoga or calming meditation. The slow movement of yoga will get your  body moving whilst making you feel a lot more chilled-out and fresh.

  4. DRAWING

    I think this is pretty self-explanatory but drawing and/or colouring is extremely relaxing. I like to sit down with a movie or TV show playing in the background and just do some doodling or colouring on a blank piece of paper. Even if you think you ‘can’t draw’, trust me – you can! – and you’ll become instantly relaxed after you do. Whether you’re just scribbling on a page or creating the next Picasso, drawing will force you to stress less.

  5. CANDLE TIME

    If you ever need to create a relaxing environment, candles are your best friend. Light a few candles, place them around your room or even your house and you’ll find yourself melting into relaxation. Candles look aesthetically appealing, give off brilliant aromas and promote good vibes. You only need one candle to make your whole night incredible!
